Viera, FL –Volunteers are invited to share their time with a local middle or high school student.  Brevard Schools Foundation is proud to purchase college scholarships for low-income, at-risk students.    Volunteer mentors provide support and encouragement.  Mentors already have the heart and the knowledge; Take Stock in Children teaches volunteers  how to mentor a student and help him/her go to college, achieve their dreams and break the cycle of poverty.

Brevard Schools Foundation’s Take Stock in Children program provides a unique opportunity for local students to escape the cycle of poverty through education.  Volunteer mentors meet with their student each week at school throughout the school year.  Together with our community, we provide scholarships, mentors and hope, changing futures and making dreams come true.

Learn how you can impact a student’s future by attending either  of the following training opportunities:  Thursday, January 26  at 9:00 a.m. or Wednesday, February 15 at 9:00 a. m. at the Educational Services Facility: 2700 Judge Fran Jamieson Way, Viera.  Additional training may be scheduled to better accommodate your schedule, please contact Brevard Schools Foundation  to coordinate.

Male mentors are currently needed at Madison and Jackson Middle Schools in Titusville and  Edgewood Jr/Sr High on Merritt Island.
