2011 Report of College-Bound Seniors Released VIERA, FLORIDA - College Board has just released the 2011 SAT Report of College-Bound Seniors. For the fourth consecutive year, Brevard’s mean scores were above the state and national averages for all subjects: Reading, Math, and Writing. “These are very strong scores and the number of students tested increased from 2,029 in 2010 to 2,344,” said Superintendent Dr. Brian T. Binggeli. “Students, parents and staff are to be commended for the hard work that makes this success possible.” The SAT is not a required test; these are results for students who chose to take it, usually for college admission. Approximately 45% of Brevard’s graduating seniors took the SAT. For the first time, these data now include all students in a graduating class who took the SAT at least once at any time through June of their senior year, as opposed to previous years which were reported through March. This change is intended to better reflect a more complete picture of the college-going population. Because of the change, however, it also means that 2011 scores are not comparable to those that have been previously released.
