Freedom 7 Elementary Serving Our Community

COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA –This holiday season, Freedom 7 Elementary continued two of their annual service projects, Operation Hope in Fellsmere, which helps support the migrant workers in that area, and the Thanksgiving Food Drive. Both were highly successful.

The Thanksgiving Food Drive collected a record amount.  Over 4,000 pounds of food was amassed for the Central Brevard Sharing Center.

Items collected for Operation Hope included children’s school supplies and books; personal items, such as, brushes, combs, sunscreen, deodorant, sunglasses, shampoo, hand towels, and toothbrushes; clothing; bicycles and other toys; baby items like diapers, pacifiers, wipes, lotion, and clothes; and Christmas Items. Twenty-nine students, parents and staff spent Sunday, November 20th, traveling to Fellsmere Community Center to distribute the donated items.

As an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program (PYP) School, Freedom 7's philosophy, goals and curriculum are designed to empower students to become responsible world citizens.  Our mission includes providing opportunities for students to embrace the action cycle and create and participate in community service learning.  The PYP program focuses on the heart as well as the mind and addresses social, physical, emotional and cultural needs as well as academic ones. Our annual service projects are aligned with these IB/PYP priorities.

Freedom 7 is located at 400 4th Street, South, in Cocoa Beach. For more information, please contact us at 321-868-6610.
